TURN TWO – Middle Grade (Querying)
Twelve-year-old RJ isn’t sure what makes a perfect family, but he knows his isn’t one. His father took off before he was born and since RJ is the spitting image of his dad, he is a constant reminder of the life his mom couldn’t have. When a hard-drinking stepfather who naturally repels kids arrives, life at home is no ballgame.
An all-star shortstop, RJ’s dream is playing for his beloved New York Mets. In the summer of 1973, he heads to baseball camp where he meets Bobby, a hotshot second baseman from Massachusetts. They start off as adversaries, until they discover they have the same father each were named after. The only difference is Bobby is growing up happily with the person about whom RJ has only dreamed — a father who doesn’t sound at all like the man his bitter mother describes.
Armed with the truth about his dad, RJ is determined to know him. The brothers hatch a plan for him to sneak off to Boston to meet their father at Fenway Park. Getting caught could destroy the precarious relationship with his mom and push her closer to the man that would rather have RJ out of the way for good. The risk will be worth it if RJ can have the relationship with his father he’s always wanted.

A DREAM ONCE LOST – Young Adult (Drafting)
High school senior Gwen Leodegrance’s arrival in Camlann was not unexpected by the two young women waiting for her, although they have never met.
At least not in this lifetime.
Over a thousand years ago, Gwen, Morgan and Elaine were at the center of a scandal that toppled a legend and brought Britain to its knees. Along with Dr. Aiden Kraft, it is their task to right past wrongs. Despite the mutual distrust and acrimony that has followed them, the three must work together so that Morgan’s younger brother Ian can fulfill his destiny as King Arthur.
Only Dr. Kraft, once the Merlin of Camelot, knows what the future holds. All he can reveal is that the very existence of England and her citizenry will be gravely threatened. Someday it will lie in Ian’s hands, but right now it rests with three young women – Gwen, the free-spirited artist; Morgan, the brilliant and dark college student; and Elaine, the insecure academic prodigy.
Britain’s monarchy is on the brink of a new and promising dawn, but there is a looming threat. The country will someday turn to Arthur for her survival and in an unexpected way. It is the twenty-first century – heroes now come in many forms and royal lineage is not only defined by a crown.
